Georgia Alabama Pick for Week 5
Florida and Florida State have done it with two different head coaches.

In many ways, quarterback Greyson Lambert is on top of the world. The Tide are in an unfamiliar spot this early in the season as they dropped a game before October 1st for the first time since 2007 against the #3 ranked Ole Miss rebels two weeks ago in Birmingham and they are coming to play to beat the Dawgs “Between the Hedges”.
Despite the insistence of Lambert and his teammates that Saturday’s collision with the Crimson Tide is merely “the next game on our schedule”, a date with the reigning SEC champs at this particular juncture, for this particular Georgia team, feels like it belongs to a much larger story, unfolding along a much longer timeline.
Is this the year for Georgia?
“We just have to continue to improve as a group and play better around him on a more consistent basis”. A win for Richt would be a nice little bookend. Nick Chubb paced Georgia on the ground with 131 yards and a pair of trips to the end zone on 15 touches while Sony Mitchell rambled for 75 yards on six totes and two TD’s. I just think Alabama has the defense to contain Georgia so I’ll take the field goal…
There is another storyline developing for storied Alabama as well.
This is definitely the game of the weekend in the Big 12, at least on paper.
Still, it speaks to the constant conundrum here, where it takes crafting new leaguewide rules to prevent competitors from doing things that are not accepted as part of Georgia’s moral code.
We can’t make this more than what it is. This slate of games brings us to our roundtable question as TSS associate editors Bart Doan and Terry Johnson join staff writer Kevin Causey. “I thought this was the best decision for me”.
It is hard and maybe a bit unfair to pinpoint why Georgia hasn’t become a championship-winning machine like Alabama despite sitting on more fertile recruiting territory, but it is undeniable that, in the pure competitive sense, the Bulldogs handicap themselves in a variety of ways.
The Alabama (12-2) will host Louisiana Monroe (4-8) in a NCAA College Football battle at the Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, AL on September 26, 3:33 PM.Alabama quarterback Jake Coker (14) throws a pass during the first…
On the lone occasion when Richt might have been in legitimate danger of losing his job, following back-to-back unranked finishes in 2009 and 2010, the Bulldogs responded by winning the East in 2011 and then coming within one play of the BCS Championship Game on their return trip to Atlanta in 2012.
Meanwhile, Georgia has operated with financial prudence in the arms race of facilities and salaries relative to its SEC peers.
“Alabama is a great football team”, Richt said. “That’s what we try to do”.
And many would laud Georgia football for maintaining relevance in a mostly principled way, with no major NCAA trouble under Richt (the school’s compliance office aggressively pursued allegations that star running back Todd Gurley accepted money for autographs last season, suspending him immediately) and a track record of holding players accountable for off-field behavior.
Cindy Royster: Why can’t all true Alabama fans support all the players and all the coaches? Either way, it appears to have sunk in.
Georgia WR/KR Isaiah McKenzie, who has returned four kicks for touchdowns in his career, is expected to play after a woman declined to press charges following an incident at a restaurant Monday.
It’s quite the challenge for Georgia in Pruitt’s second season, as well as for Ganus, a former two-star quarterback prospect who will be competing in a sea of five stars. “Be respectable, honest, caring and hardworking”.
