The gathering at Furman University’s McAlister Auditorium is moderated by Attorney General Alan Wilson. Yet, there have been 294 shootings in which at least four people were shot in one spree or setting.

“We’re in a hard time in our country and I don’t think more government is necessarily the answer to this”, Bush said. “I think we need to reconnect ourselves with everybody else”, Bush said Friday at the Conservative Leadership Project Presidential Forum in Greenville, S.C. It’s just, it’s very sad to see. “I had this challenge as governor, because, look, stuff happens, there’s always a crisis”.

Gunman Chris Harper Mercer opened fire on the campus of Umpqua Community College Thursday, killing 9 people and wounding seven others.

“What a way for Republicans to end a frightful week”.

Given a full day to think about what should come next, after God’s heard his pleas for, well, something, Bush was asked if he supported any legislation to make shootings like these less likely in the future.

Bush, who like most Republicans favors Americans’ gun rights under the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, was pressed to explain his comment by reporters after he spoke.

He said “the best laws” are usually at the state level. “No, but that’s not what you judge a candidate on”, Greenberg said in an interview.

Hank Greenberg, who built American global Group Inc. into the world’s largest insurer, said he’s putting his money behind Jeb Bush in the Republican party’s crowded nomination race.

BUSH: Things happen all the time. He cited as an example an “impulse” to pass a law about fencing after a child drowns in a pool.

“It isn’t one of division and get in line and we’ll take care of you with free stuff”.

The problem is that this “stuff” has been happening all too frequently in this country, and, well, we haven’t done anything. Even now, about half of the money for Bush’s presidential campaign is coming from the Bush family donor network.
