Faced with a rise in the number of homelessness in New York City shelters and seemingly more visible homeless on the city’s streets, Mayor Bill de Blasio unveiled a plan to hire more lawyers to help tenants avoid unjust evictions.

Gerben noted that “there is a fair-use defense in trademark law” that protects parodies, but also said “there may be a little bit of a stronger case for Mr. Trump”, if De Blasio is using “Make America Fair Again” to promote his own policies.

Richard Flanagan, a College of Staten Island political-science professor, pointed out that de Blasio is probably anticipating a primary challenge in two years, when he’s expected to run for re-election.
