What started with 169 films from 31 countries has grown over two decades to include more than 300 films from 75 countries.

“Zubaan” is the opening film at the prestigious Busan worldwide Film Festival 2015, a first for Bollywood and the makers are excited to see what the audience has to say.
Taiwan’s Hou Hsiao-hsien and other legendary Asian filmmakers are among those celebrating the Busan global Film Festival’s 20th year.
Among those strutting along the red carpet were German actress Nastassja Kinski, Chinese actress Tang Wei and a fan favourite from “Star Wars” – R2D2 escorted by Stormtroopers. It is Singh’s debut feature and is about a man who is obsessed with success until he sets on a journey to find his true fate through music.
The star-studded gala was also celebrated with a reenactment of the King’s procession along with traditional music in commemoration of the festival’s 20th year.
Veteran South Korean actor Song Kang-ho, the star of “Snowpiercer”, and Afghani actress Marina Golbarhari, who returned to Busan for the first time since her 2003 role in “Osama”, shared the spotlight on stage. Director Mozez Singh along with actors Vicky Kaushal, Sarah Jane Dias, Shaan Vyas, Guneet Monga and Raghav Chanana were present.
Sources reveal that the festival directors were so impressed with the film that they took the Zubaan team out for a celebratory private dinner. The Panorama section has introduced dozens of Korean movies in Europe.
“This is a super platform for any filmmaker and I wish all of us luck and the opening of many exciting new cinematic doors”, Singh said.
The film festival is expected to delight moviegoers before it closes with the film “Mountain Cry” on October 10.

Earlier today, the festival organized a press conference for Zubaan, and it came as no surprise that the film’s leads Vicky Kaushal and Sarah Jane Dias kept it stylish in SSHomme & Lanvin respectively, much like the stylized musical drama.
