AMD recently released a new Catalyst driver in beta form, version 15.9, which contained “performance and quality” optimizations for the Star Wars: Battlefront beta and DirectX 12 optimizations for the Fable Legends: Benchmark. Jedi Knights on the Xbox One platform will find their path to Battlefront via Xbox LIVE, while Imperial Scum – err – heroes? – on the PlayStation 4 will get their access via Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN). Feeling the ominous thud of an AT-AT stomping down on the frozen tundra of Hoth. “Intense dogfights between squadrons of X-wings and TIE fighters filling the skies”, the game description reads.

If you can’t wait till November, there is the option to give the multiplayer beta a try this October.
Because of the massive size required by the beta, players should expect to have an extensive preview of the actual game when it finally comes out in November.

The beta version of the game will release on October 8, 2015 across Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox One. PC gamers have a distinct advantage here, as EA Games is allowing PC users to pre-load the beta software beginning at 1:00 A.M. GMT on October 7. EA DICE developed the game using the Frostbite 3 engine, which EA DICE debuted in Battlefield 4. The game had a loyal fan base who have patiently waited and hoped for a new installment in the series. The game does provide an offline experience and Keen said offline is a great place for people to learn the game’s systems and basics. The Deluxe Edition includes nothing that you can’t miss, however, so the Standard Edition may be the better bet here.
