Robert Kardashian walked in on Simpson sitting with a gun and photographs of his wife and kids soon after making the recording. According to Schiller, the late celebrity attorney told O.J., “My little girl Kim sleeps here”. Simpson’s 1995 trial regarding the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. I can’t have my little girl in this bedroom, and every time I come in here, I’m going to see your body lying in this [room].

Schiller also revealed that Simpson had his house redecorated in advance of the jury’s visit to his Brentwood home; Simpson wanted all the photos of white women taken down and photos of his family put up instead.

“O.J. had the ability to beat the system”, he said.

Kardashian, quickly taking note of where Simpson was heading with that narrative, focused his efforts on talking Simpson off the ledge-and out of his daughter’s bedroom. “You’re strong. You can handle it.’ And the rest is sort of history when you watch the playback”.

Kris Jenner, who was best friends with Nicole at the time, said she wishes she would have been more attentive and regrets not speaking up when she believed Nicole needed her the most. As defense team member Alan Dershowitz told KNX Newsradio, the move “allowed him (Simpson) effectively to testify without taking the stand”. “And a friend of mine who’s a DA investigator just pushed me over and said, ‘You’ve got this”.

Many trial observers say the case hinged on the fateful day that Darden asked Simpson in court to put on the gloves allegedly worn by the killer, and they simply did not fit.
