Vereen is the eighth Bears player chosen by ex-general manager Phil Emery (2012-14) to be released. Prosinski was drafted by the team in 2011 and ended up playing in 48 games with the team.

The Bears bolstered their defense and special teams Tuesday, signing safety Chris Prosinski and linebacker LaRoy Reynolds and waiving safety Brock Vereen. He recorded 72 tackles and defended six passes in those contests while starting nine times.

Proskinski has appeared in 56 games across four seasons with the Jaguars (2011-’14) and Eagles (2014). He had an terrible game against Seattle on Sunday, getting burned by Jimmy Graham in coverage on a touchdown catch and getting caught out of position on Tyler Lockett’s 105-yard kick-off return touchdown. He also has 27 special-teams tackles.

Reynolds has appeared in 30 games with three starts over three seasons in Jacksonville (2013-15), producing 22 tackles, one TFL and one pass break-up.

Vereen played intermittently last season in Chicago and had an up-and-down rookie campaign.
