Oregon shooting: 274 days and 294 mass shootings in USA this year

The United States is now averaging more than one mass shooting a day, with statistics revealing the country has experienced more mass shootings than days this year.

Residents of a the quiet Oregon town that was latest town to face the carnage left by the latest USA mass shooting are still searching for why the young gunman killed nine people in a college classroom before he died after exchanging gunfire with police.

The tracker draws a few criticism because its definition is broader than the FBI’s definition, which requires three or more people to be killed by gunfire.

Earlier today US President Barack Obama addressed the USA, chastising people that shootings have become “routine”. And these very numbers will need to be updated again tomorrow. And the day after.
