The 26-year-old Broner (32-2, 22 KOs) is looking to bounce back and silence those critics in front of his hometown crowd at Cincinnati’s US Bank Arena Saturday night when he takes on Khabib Allakhverdiev with the vacant WBA Junior Welterweight title on the line.

With only nine fights under his belt, and if he keeps winning, Williams figures it is only a matter of time before he gets his title shot.
The untelevised undercard will feature several high ceiling prospects such as Robert Easter Jr. and Jamel Herring.
The following is a preview of both bouts. “Edner Cherry is a very experienced fighter”. He has been undefeated since then and seven of his last ten wins have come by stoppage. Pedraza, 26, is the favorite to defeat the 33-year-old Cherry.
Pedraza has a successful worldwide amateur career which included participation in the 2008 Summer Olympics.
The final factor -and perhaps most important- that could sway this fight in the favor of the underdog is his attitude and fighting spirit compared to Broner’s. Pedraza has recent wins over Michael Farenas and Andrey Klimov.
Im not taking anything away from him, hes a tough fighter.
Khabib Allakhverdiev (R) has been out of the ring for 18 months.

Saturday is Broner’s first fight since he lost to Shawn Porter at 144 pounds in June.
Allakhverdiev is ranked #4 by the WBA, and he’s coming off of a year and a half layoff from the sport and a loss to Jessie Vargas last year in April. His notable victories include wins over Joan Guzman, Kaizer Mabuza, Nate Campbell, and Souleymane M’Baye.
