Dad builds awesome bed for son
When Eric Strong’s five-year-old son asked for the “most awesome bed ever”, Strong took on the challenge.

Strong built the fanciful bed in their family garage using two Kura beds, aTrofast storage set, a Besta shelving unit and a few extra lumber and hardware.
Everyone loves personally tailoring their IKEA furniture, so much so that the practice of stripping down their easily-assembled furnishings and reconstructing them with individual flare has garnered its own colloquial expression.
Strong spent the past few months trying to convince his son that he should trade in his convertible toddler bed for big kid bed, but his son was hesitant – until he agreed on an exchange for “the most awesome bed ever”.
After he was done, the bed had a slide, a hidden room, a secret backdoor, LED lighting and more!
Strong said he got the objective by searching for self proclaimed Ikea Hacks, a strategy to re-purpose Ikea furniture from your designated goal.
Could you see your kids loving this too?
Strong’s also posted an FAQ piece that answers the questions around his newly popular video, which has 2.1 million views as of this writing.

Right now, the whole world is saying, “I want this bed, and I want Kickass Dad”.
