A computer software designer from Polyphony Digital Inc, a unit of Sony Computer Entertainment, demonstrates the “Gran Turismo” video game in Tokyo.

The developers behind the previous incarnation, Gran Turismo 6, are still beavering away and last month Polyphony released a new course editor that allows users to pick from four themes and build a track around them.

Building an ultra-difficult track and still being able to hit every corner with speed and precision would leave you the Gran Turismo 6 champ. The app will be available for free later today on the App Store and Google Play and will save the tracks to your PSN account, so you can later downland them to your PS3.

Curbing can be placed in custom areas along the edge of the track (though this won’t be in all locations).

This little add on means that those who own the game can breathe a few new life into it on a tablet, tracing exotic and probably physics-defying circuit designs with a finger. The Community tab can also be used in order to share what you have created within the game’s apps.

The feature is subdivided to categories like Class, Racing Category and Current which lists cars depending on their use and features for players to easily choose among them. We’ve seen Ubisoft make full use of this through SingStar’s app, which turns your phone into a microphone and motion controller.

Meanwhile, SuperCheats has revealed another addition to the cheats of the game which will unlock the rocket-fuelled auto, costing about 50 million credits, as a free vehicle.
