LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition: LG launches first Android Wear smartwatch with
LG is holding an event in New York later today where the company is expected to discuss the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition and the recently revealed LG V10 “ticker display” smartphone in greater detail.

The current batch of Android Wear smartwatches may pack their share of smarts, but they all rely on a paired smartphone or Wi-Fi for connectivity.
The hairline-etched stainless steel body is paired with a hypoallergenic TPSiV elastomer band.
The watch has 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
Sensors on the device include Accelerometer / Gyro / Compass / Barometer / PPG / Global Positioning System.
The well-received LG Watch Urbane has a new and shining successor in the form of the second edition. LG is offering the watch with a rubber band in either brown, black, white or blue.
The screen is a 480×480 P-OLED display and looks pretty vibrant from the video.
Named the Watch Urbane Second Edition, the new smartwatch brings a few new features to the table to entice customers.
Cellular connectivity isn’t the only difference between the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition and the standard LG Watch Urbane.
Because it has a data connection, you should be able to fully use this watch without keeping it connected to a phone, which is certainly an advantage. It showed one off at the launch of the Watch Urbane, but at the time it ran a spin-off version of WebOS, and was only announced for sale in South Korea. Thankfully, LG has installed a bigger battery so you’ll have a 570mAh battery to help out with the extra pixels and cellular connectivity. When you consider the tradeoffs in thickness, weight and (often) price, it’s easy to see why Bluetooth/Wi-Fi only watches have been much more popular so far. The middle button resembles like a crown, and with just a single click, you can enable or disable the Ambient mode. However, for the Watch Urbane 2, this was only a preview with no information coming through about availability or pricing.

“Three buttons adorn the right side of the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition to provide quick access to shortcut settings such as contacts, LG Health, and apps list”, the company said in a statement.
