No one hurt in fire at California Planned Parenthood

Officials say there were no threats before the fire, and there haven’t been problems at this location before. The one on the second floor did not activate.

“There was smoke throughout the structure and significant water damage as when the sprinkler head starts flowing, it flows gallons per minute”.

It was not known if the clinic would reopen Thursday.

The Thousand Oaks clinic provides more than 7,000 patents a year with a wide range of healthcare services, Tosh said.

“Our commitment today, and always, is to the health and safety of our patients and staff”, Tosh said in the statement. No one was injured. A rock was apparently used to shatter the window before the container was tossed inside, Lindbery said.

Arson and sheriff’s investigators have been examining the blaze.

Observation cameras recorded a suspect wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a face veil, sheriff’s Capt. John Reilly said. “Judging by the walk, they think it was a male”.

Responders said a sprinkler system was activated and extinguished the small fire.

News of the arson comes less than a month after another Planned Parenthood in Washington state was set on fire.

Planned Parenthood officials have apologized for their tone in the videos, but deny claims they discussed illegally selling fetal tissue.

The clinic attack follows several weeks of GOP-led attacks on the national Planned Parenthood organization after the Center for Medical Progress released deceptively edited videos alleging the non-profit organization harvests baby organs.

Wednesday night’s attack drew a sharp response from Sen.

They’re now directing patients to Planned Parenthood in Ventura and hope to be back open by the end of the week.

“While this extremism is deeply troubling, our focus is on providing high-quality, compassionate health care to the millions of women, men, and young people across the country who rely on us”, Custer added.
