St. Mark Episcopal Church, 75 Cold Spring Road, will hold a St. Francis Day Pet Blessing at 10 a.m. Sunday, October 4, led by the Rev. Suzanne Wade.
“In blessing the animals, we are respecting one aspect of creation that is sometimes overlooked, and perhaps distorted”.
Roman Catholic Priest Jason Clark gave the annual blessing of the animals on the steps of St. John the Baptist Church in Chico Friday afternoon.
St. Francis of Assisi, founder of the Franciscan order, is the Patron saint of animals and the ecology.
Donation drop boxes are located at, Pet Smart, Petco, Lefebvre Veterinary Medical Center, Animal Hospital, A Cuddly Cut, Lindsay Veterinary Clinic, The Animal House, Monroe Animal Health, Cooper Veterinary Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center – Downtown, North and CHC campuses. The ones that included the information in their weekly announcements are listed below. Pets bathroom needs must be tended to appropriate by their owner and properly disposed of.

Dogs should be on a leash while cats and other pets should be in appropriate carriers. They will be run on the Faith page as space allows.
