‘Empire’ Premiere Gets 1.3 Million Tweets

Empire” Season 2 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on FOX. The show drew 7.4 million viewers, including 2.4 million under 50, and almost tied with CBS’s Survivor for first place in the demo. But this is only the beginning. The second season of the smash-hit series “Empire” will premiere tonight on Fox. There is another side building their battalion as season 2 returns to carry out the tagline, “Warring Kingdoms”.

The Empire premiere was insane. Lucious wouldn’t let something as trivial as a murder trial prevent him from handling his business, so you can definitely expect him to use his influence to direct Empire Entertainment from jail. An immensely talented artist, the CEO of Empire Entertainment and a former street thug, his reign has been unchallenged for years. Henson is reportedly jealous of Grace Gealey and refuses to give Gabourey Sidibe more lines.

Hakeem may have made some impulsive decisions in the past, but in Season 2, he’ll mature a bit and even put together a girl group to produce. Knowing Lucious won’t be held much longer in prison, Cookie and her allies within the Lyon family make a desperate attempt to seize control of the company.

“The family is the most important to me, so if we can bedazzle you with a little Denzel, a little Oprah, that’s OK … but I think I got to stick to the family”. Jamal becomes the head of Empire.

Howard had also had noticeable roles in many movies including Winnie, Ray, Lackawanna Blues, Crash, Four Brothers, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Idlewild, August Rush, The fearless One and Prisoners.

As the episode comes to a close, Jamal washes his hands of Cookie, Hakeem, and Andre. Everyone from comedian/actor Chris Rock to activist Al Sharpton received acting credits, and this was within 15 minutes of the premiere.

Was the season premiere all you hoped it would be or did it fall flat? Lucious is also expected to have some conflict with members of a white supremacist prison gang while doing time.

It’s a big part of the character’s personality, and Henson admits, “When they first started that, I was like, look, we can’t have Cookie busting in every room all the time”. She later clarified the tweet to The Wrap, saying the rapper is a “comedian, who likes to push buttons”.
