Bihar was the first state – in 2005 – to reserve 50% seats in local bodies for women when the quota mandated by the Panchayati Raj Act was only 33%. “But Modi ji remains silent and keeps backing violence instigators”, Khan said.

“All the opposite events might win elections on the idea of influential leaders or political agendas, however the Bharatiya Janata Party doesn’t win due to leaders or soiled politics”.

“Nitish Kumar was a diamond when he was with the BJP and once he quit the alliance and joined hands with Lalu Prasad Yadav, he has been reduced to being (a piece of) coal”. “To counter my government’s popular scheme of providing bicycles to 8.15 lakh students, the BJP in its vision document for Bihar elections has come out with the promise of scooty”, Kumar said.

“Laluji only tried to give power to castes that were denied a share in development”.

He said that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad stayed away from the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s rally last month, while the Congress president Sonia Gandhi did not take Prasad’s name at her rallies on Saturday. When houses, shops and businesses of one community were targeted?

Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi also backed Alvi’s assertion, saying all the three parties in the grand alliance are in harmony. “Its propaganda about so-called lawlessness has created an image of Bihar which is not the reality and discouraged private investors”, the RJD leader added.
