‘Star Wars’ Princess Leia bikini costume sells for $96000

The infamous Princess Leia bikini from Return of the Jedi was sold this weekend for nearly $100k.

Bidding opened on October first at 80-thousand dollars.

The identity of the winning bidder has not been revealed.

The costume came with a letter of authenticity from designer Richard Miller and a collar and a few chain.

Carrie Fisher wore the metal outfit in Star Wars’ Episode VI-Return of the Jedi.

The blockade runner is the first craft in the “Star Wars” franchise and now holds the distinction of the highest-selling “Star Wars” artifact in an auction.

A representative for Profiles in History says, “We just completed the most successful auction of Hollywood memorabilia in the world for 2015, besting any other auction house, with a total of over $7 million”.

Star Wars” has always had a strong cult following, which was proven again recently by a fan who paid a record-breaking amount for a spaceship model at a California auction that ended last Thursday.

Fisher is set to reprise her role as Princess Leia in the forthcoming film Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. You may think your collection of memorabilia is great and extensive, but it will never include one of the coolest items in the Star Wars catalog.
