“Fire doesn’t discriminate”, Fruetel said. “Ovens and stoves are not heating appliances….”
Three children have died after a fire at a north Minneapolis house.
A warning had been issued by officials for residents to not use a cooking oven for heating.
The home’s owner says the family had just moved in, and the natural gas had not been turned on yet. Temperatures had hit mid-40s last night in Minneapolis, according to weather reports. Fruetel said all three were younger than 7. “She is laying in bed, just out of it”.
The unidentified mother said the oven was left on for warmth, since the house was without heat, the Star Tribune reported.

The Star Tribune reports the city on Monday released an inspection synopsis for the house covering the time since the current landlord took ownership in 2013. No firefighters were hurt. The steps also held an informal memorial of stuffed animals and artificial flowers.
