Alfonso Ribeiro to Host ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Monday
Alfonso to the rescue! Tom Bergeron has been forced to take a night off his hosting duties for Dancing With the Stars tonight, Monday, October 5, to be with his sick dad. When asked about being featured on season 21 of the show he told PEOPLE, “Guest judging on Dancing with the Stars is like returning home for me”.

In the wake of that win, Ribeiro hosted the national tour of “DWTS Live”. As People reported on Sunday evening, Bergeron is stepping back from the stage to tend to his ill father. Tonight the stars recall their most memorable year. With juvenile jokes about someone’s name (“Fat one”) or referring to himself as “big daddy”, he proved a little Ribeiro goes a long way.
Ribeiro clearly has a close connection to the show and should be able to take over, although it will be interesting to see how he handles it.
Unfortunately, the couple with the lowest combined judges’ score and viewer votes was sent home.
This week of Dancing with the Stars will most likely include a ton of emotions – the celebrities must choose a song that encompasses a memorable time or incredible life experience.
Not far behind, Carter, Grier and Braxton each received a 27 from judges.
Gary Busey will dance to “That’ll Be the Day” by Buddy Holly.

Also doing poorly was Deen, who received an 18 for her cha-cha-cha danced to Aretha Franklin’s “Respect“.
