Fenway Sports Group made a decision to call an end to Rodgers’ three years in charge of the club on Sunday evening, axing the 42-year-old following their draw in the 225th Merseyside derby.

Several news outlets, including Sky and the BBC, reported that Klopp was the frontrunner, having led Dortmund to two Bundesliga titles and a Champions League final appearance in 2013. From there to now I don’t really see much progression. The Northern Irishman was shown the exit door after a string of poor performances by Liverpool in all competitions this season.
Germany’s former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes ex-Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is the “ideal” candidate to replace manager Brendan Rogers.

Redknapp echoed Carragher’s comments and urged Liverpool hierarchy to appoint Klopp as Rodgers’ successor. He was closest certainly to winning the Premier League of all the managers that have been working for the club, but that is the way it goes now and I wish him good luck.

Liverpool need a manager who is big enough to handle the pressure, without thinking he is bigger than the club.
Rodgers’s replacement, when he is appointed, will work within the existing structure and what has become known as Anfield’s “transfer committee”.
