Harry Redknapp’s weird vehicle park rant at ‘horrendous’ Sunderland

Redknapp not only ruled himself out of the race to succeed Dick Advocaat at the Stadium of Light, he also claimed bookies favourite Sam Allardyce is unlikely to head back to the North East because the team’s not good enough.

Redknapp has been out of management since leaving QPR in February and is one several names linked with the post since the Advocaat stepped aside on Sunday,.

“But no, I’m not in the running – and I don’t know whether Sam Allardyce wants it really”.

‘Sam has done a fantastic job wherever he has been, but he will look at it and think: “Can I keep these up?”

Redknapp said: “I’m not in the running and I don’t know if Sam will want it either”.

We are second off bottom and five points off safety but nobody gets relegated in October and we have been in these situations before and got out of them so it is a tough job yes, but with 30 games still to go, not an impossible one for the next manager through the door at the Stadium of Light, whoever that is.

They’ve not recruited very well and they have not brought good players in.

“It’s a good club and a good chairman”. But I don’t know who they’ll go for. They were horrendous. They haven’t recruited well.

Having watched Sunderland at Bournemouth, last month, Redknapp described the Black Cats an “absolute disaster”. You see the problem now is the manager gets the blame all the time – who’s signing the players?

Neil Warnock, who has managed Leeds United and Crystal Palace among other clubs, has doubts whether Allardyce would take the Sunderland job if he is offered. Who’s bringing the players in?

“Who brought the players in at Tottenham after I left?”

“Who’s bringing these players in at Sunderland?”

“Who’s bringing them in at all these other clubs?” Was Brendan bringing them in at Liverpool?

“The manager gets the blame all the time but who’s bringing the players in?”

“Then you’ve got to sit there and wait for the next manager and then bring a few more c**p players in”.
