Barcelona end Manchester United’s hopes of ever signing Neymar

The Brazilian was the subject of a £130million bid during the summer from Manchester United along with wages in excess of £300,000 a week – double his current earnings at the Nou Camp though he earns the same again in commercial endorsements.

Neymar, who joined Barca in 2013 from Santos, scored 43 goals last season and helped the European giants win the Champions League.

Barcelona technical director Robert Fernandez admits that talks have yet to take place over a new contract for Neymar.

The article suggests Neymar does not want to rush into negotiations, as investigations into his move to Barcelona are still ongoing at the moment. Both Neymar and Luis Suarez also will remain at Barca and will look to build up their fitness ahead of the eighth round of La Liga later this month, with the Catalans in action against Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou on October 17.

“I watch a lot of players, yes”.

Barca have been marred by injuries, with Brazilian midfielder Rafinha ruled out for six months with knee ligament damage and captain Andres Iniesta sidelined with a hamstring problem. “It’s part of the game”. “Therefore, I think that with Brazil it is easier and our need today causes us to have more patience with him”.

But Barca are determined to ensure they keep hold of one of their biggest stars.

The punishment was handed down after the club breached rules regarding the signings of underage players. “We are looking because it’s our duty to do so”.
