Tom Hiddleston Explains Why Loki Was Cut From Avengers: Age Of Ultron
Tom Hiddleston attends “High-Rise” photocall during 63rd San Sebastian Film Festival on September 22, 2015 in San Sebastian, Spain. “I shot for a day, and I enjoyed it very much, and then I received a phone call from [Marvel Studios President] Kevin Feige…who said, basically, in test screenings, audiences had sort of overemphasized Loki’s role”. Director Joss Whedon fought to have it included and Marvel obliged – but it looks like both parties agreed that having Loki appear did more harm than good. Apparently the audience thought “Loki” was controlling “Ultron” for a few reason.

Since Ultron was the main villain, it made no sense to mislead fans by including Loki in a cameo and thus encouraging false expectations.
The dreams were not an executive favorite. Now we know exactly why Thor’s brother got the ax: The movie was overstuffed.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is now available on Digital HD and Blu-ray.
Hiddleston is still contracted for three more Marvel films, and his status as of the end of Thor 2 implies plenty more of the character going forward.

IB Times said the second ‘Avengers, ‘ like the first one, sets a pedestal role for future movies in the series to shape up the way Marvel wants them to. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his bad plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
