Hillary Clinton: US must face ‘hard truths’ after South Carolina shooting
“This ultimately is about how we treat each other”, Clinton said in the final minutes of her speech. “We won’t forsake those who have been victimized by gun violence; this time we have to find answers together”.

Clinton was in Nevada on Thursday for a speech to the National Association of Latino Elected Officials in Las Vegas and a veteran’s forum in Reno, Nevada.
“I’m going to try to be producing an agenda that I hope can draw Republican voters and Republican members of Congress”, Clinton said Monday in an interview with The Concord Monitor in New Hampshire.
Clinton helped negotiate that treaty as secretary of state and called it the “gold standard” free trade deals, but has since distanced herself from it in the face of vehement liberal opposition. The state holds the first-in-the-South presidential primary. Bernie Sanders, called the shooting “an act of terror”.
Clinton will argue, aides said, that she received her first job out of college due to an apprenticeship grant for law students working on civil rights.
But campaign politics were overshadowed by the late Thursday slaying of nine people at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.
She was asked about the case by Holly Hill Mayor William Johnson.
“Let’s unite in partnership, not just to talk, but to act”, she said.
Clinton told the audience that listening is a big part of leading, and that she was here to listen.
“For her opposition to mean something, she should be engage her supporters to advocate their senators to oppose this now”. She promised to “stand up against any attempt” to deport Dreamers, the term used to describe immigrants who were brought as children to the country and are living here illegally.
“People are slowly coming up again”, she said.
Later in her speech, Clinton laid out four fights that need to be tackled to make the economy and the country work for all.
“Latinos deserve to know how Hillary Clinton is looking out for her own political ambition instead of their interests”, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement. “As her avoidance tour continues, it’s no wonder why Americans don’t trust her”.
“In my campaign, I’m making early learning and childcare top priorities, setting a course for every four year old in America to be able to access high quality preschool in the next ten years, everywhere”, Clinton said.
Clinton’s campaign said the proposal would build upon similar bipartisan efforts presented by Sens.
“Most of the people in this room, including me, were not included in the Constitution in the beginning, am I right?”
