“The arrow has been recovered by the Capital Area Humane Society by the animal control officer and we’re going to look further into this”, Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich said.

The cream-and-white tabby was brought to the Capital Area Humane Society today after it was found hiding beneath a deck along Carlisle Highway, between Vermontville and Bellevue, authorities said. “He’s got a great attitude though considering what he’s been through”, CAHS President and CEO Julia Willson told MLive.

The next day or so are extremely critical. “We should know more by tomorrow evening as to his prognosis”. The Sheriff’s Department tracked down the cat’s owner, and now they’re working to find its shooter.

The cat had been shot with a crossbow arrow through the chest. According to a Tuesday post on the organization’s Facebook page, the cat named Kitty was in serious but stable condition and being treated for pain. The cat’s owner had last seen the animal Saturday.

Dennis Warner, who told WILX-TV he found the cat, said he is a hunter himself, but finding Kitty like this upset him.
