“The Voice” Recap: The Blind Auditions Wrap Up

On tonight’s episode as per the NBC synopsis, “Carson Daly (“TODAY Show”) hosts a special recap of the blind auditions including never before seen moments and a sneak peek at next week’s battles”. Bring out the greatest singer in the show’s history and the most handsome. “Now, all you gotta do to do is come on my team and let’s make you a country star”.

A Baldwin County teenager shows she has major talent when it comes to singing after prompting all four judges to turn around during the blind auditions of “The Voice” on Monday night.

But Shelby stunned everyone by picking Adam – leaving Blake open-mouthed before admitting: ‘Wow, I did not see that one coming! You actually could do that with Gwen.

“Summer Schappell built on what the other singers discussed by saying the experience was “insane”, “incredible” and “awesome”. His reason for why he didn’t turn his chair was later explained.

The first one to turn his chair was Shelton, 39, and instinctively, Stefani and Williams immediately turned their chairs.

Her performance was a little slow at points but her attractive voice convinced the remaining coaches with spots on their team to turn around for her. After her audition concluded, Levine admitted to her that if his team was not full, he would have turned around for her.

“The brilliant moments were so brilliant that I have to be part of it”, says Adam. “Even though the coaches didn’t have any spots left, they still liked what I was doing”. Fortunately, the song selection process worked out in favor of the advancing artists.

Small town teen Shelby Brown has only performed in small venues – namely her hometown’s bowling alley – but she’s ready for a bigger audience.

Texas-born Blaine Mitchell defines himself as an alt-rocker, but goes more adult contemporary with his performance of Train’s “Drops Of Jupiter”. “So it was very simple to take a rock song by someone who does country music every now and then to incorporate country into it”. She rocks an Adele-style party ponytail, but doesn’t fall into the “sacred ground” trap of auditioning with an Adele song.

Oklahoma resident Chase Kerby was the next contestant on the stage and performed “The Scientist” by Coldplay. “I’m so impressed. Please pick me”, the country superstar said, noting Vachal’s guitar skills. “I think it’s a little more pop and I would love to switch it up a little bit in the country world because I think it’s time for that”. She wanted to be just like her father when she was little, so she started singing.

But she predicted that she would go with Pharrell, complaining: ‘I don’t want you to get seduced by the fact that Pharrell is so cute – its distracting’. He holds a strong note at the end, which has them all but salivating for him. “The best way I could describe it would be old-timey indie pop”. “Going through the process of this show is really going to help me to probe into that in deeper ways”.
