Alabama deputy who held baby after vehicle crash: ‘I did nothing heroic’
According to the report of the Daily Mail, Sheriff’s Deputy Ric Lindley arrived after the crash in Leeds, Alabama and checked if there were victims.

Much to his surprise, that photo captured hearts nationwide and, within hours, was been shared thousands of times on social media, and made its way all the way to Hawaii.
The caption reads: “Deputy Ric Lindley comforts a child at the scene of a traffic accident on I-20 near Leeds this morning”. Lindley wears sunglasses, and while he’s not exactly frowning, one gets the impression that he may not be up for having his picture taken just then.
“This is what we do”, Lindley said.
A picture of a police officer cradling a baby who was involved in a vehicle accident involving an ambulance, a tractor trailer and three cars has gone viral.
No word on any injuries involved in the crash. “After I held her and walked a bit, she quieted down”.
The child and her mother were not injured.
Self said Lindley told him about the incident afterward: “He said, ‘I didn’t do anything; it’s nothing that any other deputy or father or grandfather wouldn’t do”.

“At the very least, he showed love and compassion, which makes him a hero in my eyes”, another commenter wrote. “This deputy is part of the family I’m referring to and we are especially proud of the recognition he is getting today for this simple act of care and kindness”.
