Quad slowing Byron Maxwell, but he thinks he’ll play

Three starting offensive lineman sat out practice on Tuesday. And Kendricks, through no fault of his own, looks like he could become a player who can’t be counted on consistently because of a body that keeps breaking down on him.

“If I wouldn’t have had my brace on for that field goal, I think I would have blown my knee out”, Johnson said.

“I’m so used to doing it”, said Johnson, who was Kelly’s first-ever draft pick. “I watch film with all the guys in there and they’re telling me, ‘Hey Bunche, you’re looking good.’ And I see it”. Dennis Kelly replaced Tobin for the rest of the game.

Johnson and Barbre expect to be available this week.

“We’re 1-3”, Johnson told reporters Tuesday.

Jerome Couplin played a few defensive snaps, which I didn’t really notice live during the game.

Exactly when Johnson will return to practice isn’t known. Numerous Eagles are questionable for Sunday’s home game against New Orleans, while others will likely be in street clothes as kickoff approaches.

The team doesn’t have to release an injury report until the conclusion of Wednesday’s practice, so Barbre’s injury isn’t known.

Right tackle Lane Johnson injured his left knee on the PAT after Brent Celek’s touchdown. “Usually if I’m on the ground… Fortunately, it wasn’t too bad”. He returned and finished the game, however, which is something he may not have done had the team not already been so short-handed up front. “This group of guys will make those plays”. “That’s really no excuse”. Maxwell says he’ll be ready to go Sunday but is unable to run pain free.

Kirk Cousins also broke from his personal history of self-destructing by making all of the right decisions down the homestretch. “It’s not getting better and that’s what the problems are”. Part of playing in the National Football League is dealing with injuries. “But I’ll definitely be playing in the game”. Tobin had practiced only at guard heading into Washington.

Despite his competitiveness and desire to be on the field, Johnson admitted that if the Eagles were fully healthy along the offensive line that he would consider taking more time to recover.
