“When the prime minister talks about unemployment, he does not talk to unemployed youth, poor, farmers or workers”.

Reviving his “Suit boot ki Sarkar” barb against the Narendra Modi government, Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi today hit out at the Prime Minister for being surrounded by corporate bigwigs and bureaucrats in “suit boot” and never been seen with farmers and labourers. Taking a potshot at Modi’s dresses, he said the PM is always seen in clothes of different colours and surrounded by bigwigs unlike Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who wears white at all times and “comfortably mingles with people of all hues”.

Rahul said the PM did not want to listen to what people had to say to him: “His Mann ki Baat is he telling you what he wants to say”. “In the pictures, you will be able to see many people from America – someone from Facebook, someone from Instagram, someone from Google or someone from Youtube”. It was a matter of strategy to campaign separately, said Mr Prasad, reportedly upset at the prominence the Congress has given to Nitish Kumar by casting the deciding vote for him for the top post should the alliance win the election. Addressing another election rally at Bachhwara in Begusarai district, Rahul asked people to give a befitting reply to the saffron party by ensuring victory of grand alliance candidates. He said Rahul Gandhi did not draw any daily allowance during the period when he did not attend the Parliament. He had assured the farmers of increasing minimum support price for their crops. Look what has happened.

In his speech to a sizeable crowd at Ayodhya Maidan in Begamsarai village, Rahul charged the BJP with dividing society.

Modi was in the USA from September 24 to 28.
