According to the statement, the troops recovered arms, ammunitions and other equipment from the terrorists.
The Army spokesman noted that troops had consolidated on the encounter and would continue blocking any fleeing terrorist using the Nigerian Air Force aerial bombardment and other troops artillery fire.
The militant also denied troops freed women and children kidnapped by the terrorists, known for abducting civilians and forcing them to carry out suicide bombings, according to the BBC.
On Tuesday, 11 soldiers were killed and 13 injured in a Boko Haram attack on Chadian positions across the border.
“They should follow their colleagues who have so far surrendered, because failure to surrender will result in serious consequences as our troops are fast closing up on them”, it said.
Most attacks take place in the northeast and have spilled over into neighbouring countries that regularly suffer suicide bomb explosions and hit-and-run raids. The leader of Isis, a militant group that controls parts of Syria and Iraq, however accepted the pledge of allegiance from Boko Haram, in May 2015.
