Nancy Drew first appeared in books in 1930 and was originally created by Edward Stratemeyer. They’re taking the prolific, beloved set of mystery novels, Nancy Drew, and they’re bringing them into modern times. The longest-running TV series based on the character, The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, ran from 1977-79 on ABC.

Many people’s favorite character, Nancy Drew will be seen again in a TV series on CBS. The series starred Pamela Sue Martin as Drew. There have been films and television shows, and it would be hard to find anyone out there that hasn’t heard of Nancy Drew. Maggie Dawson also played the role in a 2002 television movie, followed by Emma Roberts (her aunt Julia is still a “Pretty Woman) on the big screen in 2007”. (Though watching Nancy Drew use her “uncanny remark expertise” to do her taxes and discover the least mediocre Tinder date does sound oddly watchable). This is the latest project to be developed from a piece of popular fiction. The original book series, which has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide, got its start in 1930.
