Dinamo Zagreb has announced that midfielder Arijan Ademi is now under investigation from UEFA for a failed drug test. The failed drug test occurred after the Croatian club’s first Champions League match against Arsenal.

However, Uefa have confirmed to Goal that the club will not lose the three points earned from the victory, revealing that they would only have been sanctioned had more than one player tested positive.

The Croatian champions released a statement on their website confirming that Arijan Ademi’s “A” sample had tested positive for an unidentified prohibited substance. Our players have been regularly subjected to doping controls for years after European and league games, and never has anything like this ever happened, so that we have to say that we are surprised by this result.

The Macedonian worldwide, 24, also featured in Dinamo’s 5-0 thumping by Bayern Munich in last week’s second round of group fixtures.

UEFA won’t issue a comment until after Ademi’s B-sample is tested.
