‘SNL’ Premiere: Hillary Clinton Cameos as Bartender, Sings ‘Lean on Me’

Even after her stage right exit, Clinton managed to take one more joke hurled her way; McKinnon, searching for signs that the exchange with the bartender was real, reaches to find “a hard, tan business shoe” left behind.

“I’m just an ordinary citizen who believes the Keystone Pipeline will destroy our environment”, Val tells Clinton, while smiling at the audience.

Clinton played Val, a bartender in a sketch that touches on several controversial issues including the Keystone XL pipeline, same sex-marriage and frontrunner for the Republican nomination Donald Trump.

McKinnon said, “Yes. I could have done it sooner”, to which Clinton replied, “Well, you did it pretty soon”.

‘So, Hillary, ‘ Clinton asks McKinnon, ‘what brings you here tonight?’

The opening monologue gave host Miley Cyrus a moment to address a few of the current events and she did so with a tribute song to the end of summer and those newsmakers we’ll never see again since their 15 minutes are up.

Ms Clinton returned later in the broadcast, the premiere of the long-running show’s new season, to introduce musical guest Miley Cyrus. She also appeared on the show during the 2008 presidential campaign. Isn’t he the one that’s like, (impersonating Donald Trump) oh, you’re all losers? Sure, it was basically a giant Clinton campaign advertisement/endorsement (something later acknowledged and more-outright satirized during Weekend Update), but at least her Trump impression was funnier than most of the rest of the episode! She also said that she loved impersonations of her first by Amy Poehler and later by Kate McKinnon. “I want to be the one to take him down”. “You show up, and they’re still writing it, and they’re putting the airplane together in the air”, Clinton said.

The show opened with a sketch about Donald Trump, with Taran Killam playing the mogul in all his bluster. And when the two got to talking about gay marriage, it looks like Clinton might have gotten a little burned by McKinnon.

“Oh, thanks. That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that”, Clinton responded.
