But the student, 22, took to social media after realising she had taken down the wrong number.

But the post was shared with Matty’s girlfriend and went viral.

Now Matty, 22, of Wythenshawe, has spoken of his upset after the ordeal – just hours after an imposter came out pretending to be him and claimed he and girlfriend Emily were on a break.

“It may take one year, it may take five years, but I won’t stop”.

At first things looked good, with McKinney’s friends sharing her post and vowing to help her find the elusive Matt.

The simple message states: Sometimes I wish I didn’t get involved with a few people should have left the s** a data-action=”6583805″ data-content-type=”news” data-track=”false” data-type=”inline” data-word-count=”3″ href=”http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/heartbroken-girlfriend-man-hunted-lusty-6583805″ *girlfriend’s family members insist that they’re never getting back together.

If you’re going to cheat on your significant other, it’s probably best not to have photographic proof – or, ya know, lie and say you’re single. He kept saying ‘you’re stunning, are you sure you are definitely single?’ And I asked him the same and he said he was. Emily won’t speak to me.

But I promise I will not stop fighting for her.

Stevens said he was drunk at the time of the kiss, but acknowledged that was not an excuse.

“Met this guy last night absolutely stunning”, McKinney wrote on her personal Facebook page. He’s from Whythenshaw and is called matt, help anyone haha??

The post soon came to the attention of his girlfriend who has since ended their relationship.

“That girl just tagged her mate click her and check her cover picture f-k sake knew it”, Pippa wrote. The truth! How many times has this story changed!?

He added: “This has ruined me”.
