Harry Redknapp has become the latest manager to reject the possibility of taking over at Sunderland, saying there is “no chance” he wants the job at the Stadium of Light. But I don’t know who they’ll go for.

Redknapp, Pearson, Dyche and a string of other names have all been linked but for me, bookies favourite Sam Allardyce is the man we need.
“Sam will look at it and he’s a very confident guy with a big ego who has been successful wherever he’s been and he’ll think ‘can I keep these up?’ If he doesn’t think he can then he won’t take it”.
“He doesn’t want to get relegated with them, because every year they seem to be in the same position and they’ve not recruited very well; they’ve not brought good players in”. They’ve not bought good players in.
“Is there a bus or a train that goes there in the morning?”
Redknapp did at least have something good to say about the Sunderland, although it was quickly buried by further concerns about the huge challenge any manager would face.
The former Tottenham and Portsmouth manager recently saw Sunderland – who parted company with Dick Advocaat on Sunday – lose at Bournemouth and described their performance as “horrendous”.
And he ruled himself out of the Wearside role joking: “I would have to get up early to get there”.
“I don’t know whether it’s because I’m out of work that I get mentioned”.
Neil Warnock, who has managed Leeds United and Crystal Palace among other clubs, has doubts whether Allardyce would take the Sunderland job if he is offered.
“They’re poor at the back and the centre halves are not good enough”.
“They are short everywhere from what I saw the other week, there’s a lot of work to be done there”.
He continued: “They (Sunderland) haven’t recruited well”.
“The problem now is the manager gets the blame all the time, but who’s signing the players?” he asked. They’ve spent decent money but haven’t brought good players in.
