According to The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, information is wanted on the North Port infant and his parents’ activities before they left the state. Police say there was no child with them.
Susino said she attempted to check on the family at their home at 217 Orduna Drive on September 9 and 11.
The parents of the child, Joseph Walsh and Kristin Bury, are from Sarasota County, Florida, and stayed at the Red Carpet Inn on Gordon Highway last week. They are each both being held on $150,000 bond in Jasper County, S.C., and awaiting extradition to Sarasota County.
According to the report, the parents gave conflicting stories to family members as to what happened to their son, including he died in a vehicle crash and that they had given him to a stranger at a hotel in Georgia. The parents have been arrested in South Carolina on child neglect charges.
Law enforcement verified the couple was involved in a auto crash in Hardeeville, South Carolina on October. 2 but that no baby was present at the crash scene nor was there a auto seat present or room in the vehicle for one.
In a later conversation, Bury told her stepmother that she had given Chance to a stranger at a hotel in Augusta, Ga.
“It wasn’t good. I kind of figured when I saw the police over here and they were dragging the canal in the back there looking”, says neighbor Roland McDonald.
They even told police they were told the baby was given to a woman while the couple was staying at the Red Carpet Inn.
“It’s beyond frustrating, because someone knows what happened”.
10 News Investigators found blood on a bed and in a bathroom of the couple’s North Port home, WTSP-TV reported.
A woman who stayed at the hotel told detectives that Bury tried to sell her baby clothes, saying the child had died three weeks earlier. “Just tell us what happened – we’re talking about a child here”. They will be moved to Sarasota County Jail.
