Northern Ireland striker Josh Magennis is hoping to realise a dream when Greece visit Windsor Park in Thursday’s European Qualifier.

O’Neill is set to hold talks with his employers at the Irish Football Association, who want to offer him just a two-year deal despite them standing on the brink of qualification for their first ever European Championship.

Unlike their British neighbours Wales, on the verge of their first finals since the 1958 World Cup, Northern Ireland do not have a standout world class talent like Gareth Bale.

Northern Ireland are now top of their qualifying group for the Euros and they know that a win against Greece on Thursday would send them through.

Victory for Northern Ireland would see the country qualify for next year’s finals and complete an incredible Coagh to Champs-Élysées story for Dallas. “All we can do is look after ourselves”.

“We would have settled for this scenario at the start of the campaign”, said Dallas.

“We have players suspended for the Greece game, but the confidence and belief is there that we can put in a big performance”, he added.

Manager Micahel O’Neill is still waiting on an update on McAuley’s West Brom team-mate Jonny Evans though.

Northern Ireland have lost only once in their eight games so far and remain unbeaten at home ahead of Thursday’s crunch match in Belfast.

“We have got a few really good players in the squad who have been unfortunate not to play more in the campaign, but now there will be an opportunity for a few of them to come in”.

And then the Green and White Army will be up against Finland in their final group game on 11th October. “As a group we know what it will take to get us to France and that’s what we’re focused on now”.
