He has documented his changes from the first intake of testosterone at the age of 18 to the present day.
But thanks to the attention he’s garnered from BuzzFeed’s UK-based LGBT editor about his FTM Transition Timeline video, which he uploaded 10 months ago, Raines is now a viral star. These photos show just how dramatically Jamie has changed over the past two years, and gives an insider into the incredible journey of transitioning…
He started testosterone treatment when he was 17 and immediately began taking selfies to document his progress.
His slideshow and compilation of almost three years of side by side and time dissolve comparison photographs has been viewed more than 115,000 times. “But then I didn’t get any facial hair in my first year”.
Mr Raines said his family had been “really supportive and really excited for me because of the changes”.
Over the course of his second year taking the hormone, he started to notice more dramatic changes.
When a TV producer caught wind, Jaime was added to the roster of a new documentary for Channel 4 about transgender men, Girls to Men.
‘Now I feel like I’ve been doing it for so long I just want to keep going, for maybe five years.

“I guess I cry less and my temper is slightly shorter, but I don’t think it’s changed my personality or anything”, Raines told BuzzFeed. “I’m very happy with what I see in the mirror and very grateful for how I look now”.
