Google launches Delhi Public Transport app
The app supports DMRC Metro, DTC Bus, Gurgaon Rapid Metro and DIMTS Orange buses. The new experimental app will be built into Google Maps and will work even when data is hard to access. One can get timetables for the Delhi Metro and bus, offline directions and notifications (online) as well and any information pertaining to change or delay in schedule.

Internet giant Google on Thursday launched a new app – Delhi Public Transport App – which aims to make it easier for the residents of the national capital to get around on public transport.
Once the app is downloaded, the app does not use data for direction queries or timetables, even if the phone is online.
It will be interesting to see what further plans Google has in this regard, though it’s worth noting here that the company regularly iterates on the transit options in the main Google Maps app, so it’s likely that the Delhi-focused incarnation is more about catering for a market that demands offline mode than anything else.
As someone who has lived in Asia and travels the region regularly, I’m hugely encouraged by this new app. Google Maps is already a must – where it can be used – but local apps like these have vast potential for locals and visitors alike.
The app includes a “share” button that will generate a link that can be sent to friends via channels like WhatsApp.
About 1 MB in size, the app is available for Android users from the Google Play store.
