AMC Renews ‘Halt And Catch Fire’
AMC has renewed their 1980s tech drama Halt & Catch Fire for a third season, TVWise has learned. The third season will debut shortly after its AMC bow on the AMC Global channels reaching 140 countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America. “Jonathan is moving on at his election to pursue a passion project he had been developing for a few time, long before “Halt and Catch Fire”.

Stillerman appears to have faith that “Halt and Catch Fire” will find its audience in the third season, particularly given the show’s Netflix availability, and talked excitedly about what season three might hold, “There’s a great line from the pilot where Joe MacMillan says, ‘It’s not the thing”.
“Consider the entirety of Halt and Catch Fire’s excellent second season, 10 episodes that were as elegant as they were rewarding. I know it was not an easy decision for him, but he made a decision we fully supported”. “We feel like there’s an enormous amount of critical love to build on”.
“This is a show with a lot of wind left in its sails and compelling story”, Stillerman told THR, noting that the network will meet again after season three to discuss a potential fourth round. They will succeed Jonathan Lisco, who ran the show for the first two seasons.
Produced in-house by AMC Studios, the pricey drama starring Lee Pace, Mackenzie Davis, Scoot McNairy and Kelly Bishe was rebooted after its low-rated freshman season ended with less than 1 million total viewers with seven days of DVR. “Much in the way that Halt is about underdogs overcoming convention and breaking new ground, the story of season 3 will endeavor to further stretch the medium and challenge the form”.
While the characters move to Silicon Valley in Season 3, production on the series will remain based in Atlanta.

“It’s a way to continue to reinvent a show that is already great on a character level in a way that makes it even more relatable” to viewers with an interesting in the evolution of the high-tech world, Stillerman said.
