Birmingham taking donations for South Carolina flood victims
After days of deluges, residents of the Carolinas are sizing up what the floods have done to their states. Residents anxious there may be more flooding on the Black and Waccamaw rivers.

The rainstorm was blamed for at least 15 deaths in South Carolina, including nine people who drowned and six who were killed in weather-related vehicle crashes.
“We’re going to be here for a long time”, FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate said.
A new interactive map offers a different look at the flood damage caused by storms earlier this month across South Carolina. FEMA has set up their registration and disaster assistance hotline and registration system, which allows individuals to receive individual assistance once their registered.
President Barack Obama marked a calamity affirmation Monday night, requesting government help to help recuperation endeavors. Teams searched the area in rescue boats and dive gear.
He estimated that was about eight inches of rain, on average, across the whole of South Carolina.
