800 pound man kicked out of hospital for ordering pizza
A almost 800-pound man undergoing in-patient treatment for his obesity says a hospital kicked him out for ordering a pizza.

His father, Steven Veillette, told NBC, “If he comes home and I do get him up the stairs somehow, someway, he’s going to go right back to his eating habits”.
He told NBC10: ‘It’s an addiction and I realize that. “And it’s a disease”.
NBC 10 Steven Assanti stayed at Rhode Island Hospital for 80 days before being booted after ordering pizza. His father said he needed to be monitored or risk gaining even more weight. But when he ordered that pizza, he violated the conditions of his healthcare plan, and that’s when he says the hospital ended their relationship.
Assanti explained that he was supposed to remain at the hospital until his weight dropped to 550 pounds, at which point he could undergo gastric bypass surgery.

Assanti said he now lives in the trunk of his father’s SUV. Once the hospital found out, he was ejected. He says he can not afford to put Assanti in a hotel and that they’re considering an apartment complex in North Attleborough, Massachusetts. “I called everybody, everybody you can think of in the state of Rhode Island and nobody seems to be… can help me”. So the two men say they will continue to drive around until they can find a place to help.
