F. Gary Gray Confirms He’ll Direct ‘Fast and Furious 8′
Gray, who made waves this summer with his profitable and critically acclaimed N.W.A biopic, has been set to direct the 8th film in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Diesel posted a picture on Facebook (see below) of himself and Gray with a pinboard of Fast and Furious images between them.
The relationship – and the promised payday – likely went a long way in convincing Gray to helm the next installment in the hugely popular Fast and Furious franchise, rather than say jumping ship and heading to Marvel to direct their Black Panther picture. “Excited to bring u the next chapter of the #FastFamily saga”, the director wrote on Twitter.
The announcement isn’t exactly a surprise, as Gray raced Monday from the top of the reported shortlist of contenders to exclusive negotiations with Universal and star/executive producer Vin Diesel, all within a matter of hours.
It’s unclear if the dedicated actor is preparing for a role or just enjoying life but either way, it’s been a very hectic few months with Vin now promoting his upcoming film, The Last Witch Hunter.
The film will once again star Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson, as well as Jason Statham and Kurt Russell.
