Roku has also made their devices more travel and dorm friendly.
Besides the ability to be paired with 4K TVs, the Roku 4 uses the new Roku OS 7, which provides the option to follow movies, TV shows, actors and directors via the Roku Feed. Updates are served straight to the home screen, making it easy to know when new content becomes available. You can now easily search, add, and view stuff on the Roku Feed and then receive notifications on the app when there are new available videos to view. The Fire Stick doesn’t support 4K, but does come with a voice-enabled remote control, which brings the Alexa AI into play.
Roku, the media streaming device maker, officially announced the launch of their new product Roku 4.
The sound quality is pretty decent, as it is with most Amazon hardware, with the new Fire TV offering Dolby Digital surround sound. In public places that require a person visit a website to access the WiFi, Roku owners can use the set-top on that network by logging in with their mobile device or laptop.
Not too long ago, rumors spread like wildfire revealing that Roku Inc. could possibly be working on its high-end streaming set-top box referred to as Roku 4, in a bid to compete with the Amazon Fire TV and Nvidia’s new Android TV.
At $129, the Roku 4 will be slightly more expensive than the Roku 3 and Amazon’s Fire TV (both priced at $99), however, it’s less expensive than Apple’s new player that will cost $149 (32GB) or $199 (64GB) that doesn’t support 4k. The shortcut buttons from the Roku 2 are at the bottom of the remote, providing quick access to services such as Rdio and Netflix and the private listening headphone jack from the Roku 3 remote is included. The sales of other rival streaming devices such as Roku, Microsoft’s (MSFT) Xbox, and Sony’s (SNE) Playstation will not be affected.

For connectivity the Roku 4 includes support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac MIMO dual-band as well as 10/100 Base-T Ethernet. There is no industry standard yet for HDR, even from TV manufacturers, and certainly none for streaming.
