Microsoft goes for Apple in new product blitz
Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella said: “More and more people are coming home to Windows”. Surprising new products include the new Microsoft Band, the flagship smartphone Lumia 950 and 950 XL, Surface Pro 4, and the much-awaited Surface Book, according to Mac Rumors.

The company has already indicated that it would push its new OS to the majority of smartphones that are running with Windows Phone 8.1. This means that there are still going to be lots of applications that you can’t run on a phone in continuum mode that could run on a desktop, laptop or even a few tablets.
The devices represent a bigger push on Microsoft’s part into advanced digital security and biometrics in particular. In other words, Microsoft is wrapping up work on Windows 10 Mobile and will put on a bow on it by the end of the year – Merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, and so forth. The Lumia 950 XL has a 5.7-inch display and a Snapdragon 810 processor with octa-core CPUs. The company also revealed that it is the fastest 13-inch tablet in the market and it is twice as fast as the MacBook Pro of Apple.
Yesterday’s Windows 10 hardware launch event was without question the best Microsoft in ages – and arguably the tech launch event of the year.
When the display is reattached face-up, the Microsoft Surface Book goes into “draw mode”, which unleashes the full power of a discrete Nvidia GPU that features stylus-based sketches and other similar applications.
The regular-sized Lumia 950 will feature a 5.2-inch WQHD screen, with the same rear camera, internal storage, and operating system on board.
The all-new Microsoft Surface Book comes with a 13.5-inch display with a pixel density of 267PPI, which is said to be optically bonded to the glass.
Microsoft unveiled two phones, the Lumia 950 and 950XL, with prices starting at $549 and $649 respectively staring in November.
Both the devices come with 3GB of RAM and will feature USB C posts, which are the state of the art in terms of technology.

Now onto the more budget conscious smartphone, Microsoft also announced the Microsoft Lumia 550, and while it’s not quite as powerful as the larger 950, the 550 continues to offer Lumia smartphones in developing regions.
