Fergie couldn’t lure me to Man Utd: Mourinho
When it comes to talking about the all time great football managers, there are not many who can quite compete with what Sir Alex Ferguson achieved at Manchester United, before he chose to retire.

Speaking in a BBC documentary that airs Sunday, Ferguson said he would have liked a few years to mentor Ryan Giggs into his successor, but Giggs kept playing until late in life.
“When my dad was sick in London and was in hospital – very bad, in a coma – I had a conversation with [Ferguson]”, Ronaldo said.
“I am sure each time he is in the stadium, he wants to be down there on the touchline, shouting at players and referees.”
He hung up his boots at the end of that season and took up a backroom role under new manager Louis van Gaal.
Manchester United legend David Beckham has aimed a dig at the club’s great rivals Liverpool. Ferguson feels that at 35, the Welsh midfielder would have been a flawless fit as Ferguson’s assistant and would have later been promoted to manager after Ferguson left.
David Beckham has backed Ryan Giggs to be a big success as Manchester United manager in the future.
“We are in a key moment in the Champions League, and I said I don’t feel good and I wanna see my dad”.
He said: “I always wanted to get it off my chest, out of my system and kick on from there”. They’re a professional football club.
Beckham, who made more than 250 appearances for United, is hoping that the Red Devils can continue their good recent form into the rest of the season.
Ferguson said: “I didn’t like it at the time, honestly”. But I think he needed different attention, you needed different ways of dealing with him, he was a different guy from everyone else.
“The ironic thing is, when we won and were getting our photograph taken, this flawless “V” of geese flew right overhead”.

‘I think Clough’s warmth was genuine. He works as second in command behind Van Gaal, and has a complete understanding of the game both as a player and manager. It’s unbelievable. The average age of my teams consistently in the 20 years when we started winning the championship was 27 to 28.
