Colchester United 0 Bury 1 — FULL TIME
David Flitcroft’s Bury face a hard trip to the Weston Homes Community Stadium this afternoon in a bid to extend their brilliant run of form against an in-form Colchester United side.

The defeat ended the U’s winning run, which had stretched to four games.
Leon Clarke’s far post header with 15 minutes remaining proved the difference between the two sides in a tight contest.
Humes said: “I’m disappointed because you want the run to keep going for as long as possible”.
Lainton also denied George Moncur but Bury were unfortunate not to take the lead just before half-time when Chris Hussey’s excellent free-kick from the edge of the area rattled the woodwork.
“On another day, we’d score three or four there and that’s the positive thing about it”.
“They’ll be full of confidence but so are we and it has all the makings of a good game”.
“There was not much in it, but I thought we dominated the majority of the game, and had most of the chances”.
“They’ve got a few good technical players and Tony’s built a system that suits Colchester, but the pitch will suit us”.
“We keep saying that the first goal wins the game and they’ve nicked it”.
“It looked like it might be 0-0 but it’s really important that we’re resolute and score goals”.
“We paid Colchester respect because they have a few risky, creative players and they’ve been cutting teams apart”.
This has been largely down to the form of strikers Tom Pope and Leon Clarke who have been firing on all cylinders this season, netting 12 goals already between them. “But I thought we played the better football and put them off their game a little bit – we had a lot of territory but they defended very well”.

The Shakers’ battled to a mid-week 3-2 win away at Peterborough and a victory over the U’s could see Bury rise to the top of the table if other results go their way.
