Ballimaran MLA Imran Husain, a first time legislator, will replace sacked Environment and Food Minister Asim Ahmed Khan in the Delhi cabinet.
Stating that the government was taking the matter with utmost concern, the Chief Minsiter added that the complaint is being referred to CBI.
An audio clip released by Delhi Govt, Khan could be heard demanding a bribe of Rs 6 lakh from a builder in Delhi. The party Lokpal is already probing the fake degree case of former Delhi Law Minister Jitendra Singh Tomar and Kondli MLA Manoj Kumar.
“We can tolerate anything but corruption”. Its construction was stopped and money was demanded from the builder, who paid the amount.
“No compromise on corruption even if it’s my minister”. After the dramatic announcement, Mr Kejriwal dared the BJP to do the same with its Chief Ministers in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, who are caught in controversies. After the meeting, Kejriwal made a decision to remove Khan though a few of the party leaders were of the view that his portfolios should be changed. Sources said Khan, when confronted with the audio clip, had confessed to Kejriwal of his wrongdoing.
Reacting on the action, Congress leader Rajeev Tyagi said that the step taken by the Kejriwal government should be appreciated.
