Culpeper schools locked down following report of weapon on school bus

Officials say a person of interest has been taken into police custody after a lockdown was ordered at a Philadelphia public school.

Timmons said almost 8,000 students attend Culpeper County schools. Additional details were not immediately available.

Due to the report, the middle school, high school, and the TRIER Alternative School went on lock down. Teachers then alerted the on-site school resource officer.

At the nearby sheriff’s office at noon, school and law enforcement officials escorted in a white male teen with dark hair wearing a black hoodie.

“We were initially told that there was a threat at the school”, said O’Brien. The lockdown continued as they searched, and ultimately found a CO2-powered pellet pistol.
