Eagles Injury Update: Peters questionable; Kendricks out

The team doesn’t have to release an injury report until the conclusion of Wednesday’s practice, so Barbre’s injury isn’t known.

When asked if he would play on Sunday, he sounded optimistic: “No, as it is looking right now, I don’t think I’ll be out this week”. “I’ve been doing – not to toot my own horn – good“. I’ll be good to go on Sunday.

After Sunday’s loss at Washington, running back DeMarco Murray said he wanted the ball more.

Johnson said earlier in the week that the offensive line had “dug a hole” for the rest of the team.

Like Peters, Johnson has vowed to play.

A banged up Jason Peters doesn’t help matters this week.

“We don’t have nobody else; it’s either step up or step down”, Johnson said.

“If you have 22 carries for zero yards, we’d better call another play”, Kelly said.

Maxwell (quad), Kendricks (hamstring) and Bair (groin) all were held out of practice.

“I’ll be all right”, Johnson said. “It was rough. I had two days off so I feel pretty good”.

Drew Brees has been sacked nine times in three games… Kelly was asked Thursday if Brees is un-blitzable to which he said, yes that unfortunately might be true, though the Eagles hope that isn’t the case. “And the fact that there’s a few injuries here gives us an extra sense of focus knowing we’ve got to get everybody on the same page and find out what’s really going on”.

The Eagles are 1-3, a troubling record. “I think I need to mature as quick as possible”.

Murray spoke with reporters yesterday for the first time since the game. Maxwell says he’ll be ready to go Sunday but is unable to run pain free. So the schedule was different. “I don’t think there’s a lot, aside from the record being the same, that is the same”…

In that season, Kelly’s first in the National Football League, the Birds played the Saints in the postseason, falling, 26-24, at the Linc.

The biggest weakness on the underachieving 1-3 Philadelphia Eagles is the offensive line. We were down, 20-7, at one point.

It’s been predicted all week but we now have confirmation that linebackers Kiko Alonso and Mychal Kendricks are inactive this week when the Eagles play host to the Saints.
